Muta Game Reviews
Review Criteria
These are the things that truly matter to me in a game. I’m not afraid to call out a game if it doesn’t meet these standards.
- What I look for in games!
- Performance and Graphics:
- Lag-free gameplay is a must. Minimal loading screens. It breaks immersion.
- 60 FPS is the baseline, but 120 FPS is where I want to be. In this day and age, there’s no excuse for anything less.
- Beautiful graphics are a bonus, but they’re not the end-all-be-all. The game needs to look good, but it mainly it needs to run smoothly.
- Controls and Movement:
- I need to feel in control of my character. Directional control, jumping, crouching, dodging – these are essential.
- Weapon swapping, reloading, and weapon movement should be optimized. I don’t want to be fumbling around.
- Ideally, weapon abilities should trigger on collision, but targeted abilities are okay if they’re done right. Let me see my target.
- Customization is key. I want to be able to configure my controls and mapping keys exactly how I want.
- UI and Information:
- A clean interface is essential. I need to be able to see as much of the game as possible.
- Total customization of my character and playstyle. Let me be a cloth-wearing tank mage if I want to.
- Scaling and Challenge:
- I want a game that scales with me. I don’t want to feel overpowered or underpowered when playing against others..
- I also want to enter challenging areas and test and push my loadout.
- PvP:
- A well-balanced PvP system is a bonus. I don’t want to feel like I’m at a disadvantage because I don’t have the latest gear.
- I want a game that scales with me. I don’t want to feel overpowered or underpowered when playing against others..
- Also PvP creates a reason to grind end game otherwise we’re just number bashing mobs. Challenging other players tests our skill both in builds and ability
- Progression:
- A rewarding progression system is important. I want to feel like I’m making progress unlocking new features and ultimately cosmetics!
- Pay-to-Win:
- No pay-to-win or pay-for-convenience features. I want to earn my rewards through skill and effort.
- I’d happily pay for a subscription fora good game. Just not a sub, with a pay for convenience cash shop, pay to play features etc.
- Shareholders make devs greedy. Put the gamer first and the shareholders will be happy too!
- Performance and Graphics:
